Hale Kipa Awarded $80,000 Grant from Aloha United Way

Mahalo to Aloha United Way for its continued investment in Hawaiʻi’s youth, families, and communities!

Hale Kipa is honored to announce that it has been selected as a recipient of Aloha United Way’s (AUW) 2027–2028 Safety Net Grant, receiving a total award of $80,000 over two years.

This year’s Safety Net grant cycle was among AUW’s most competitive, with 70 applications requesting more than $4.7 million in funding. The significant demand reflects the growing challenges facing Hawaiʻi’s communities and the vital role nonprofit organizations play in addressing those needs.

Being selected for this funding is a meaningful acknowledgment of Hale Kipa’s ongoing work to provide safe, supportive environments and opportunities for young people and families navigating difficult circumstances.

Rooted in aloha and kuleana, Hale Kipa remains committed to helping youth and young adults build resilience, strengthen connections, and discover pathways toward a brighter future.

A Heartfelt Mahalo

Hale Kipa extends its sincere appreciation to Aloha United Way, its Impact Funding Council, and its leadership, including President & CEO Michelle Bartell and Vice President of Community Impact Kayla Keehu-Alexander, for their confidence in our organization and their continued dedication to strengthening Hawaiʻi’s communities.

At a time when nonprofit organizations face increasing demands and limited resources, partnerships like these are especially meaningful. AUW’s investment helps sustain the collective efforts of organizations working to create positive change across our islands.

We are grateful for this opportunity and look forward to continuing our partnership with Aloha United Way in service to our community.
