Hale Kipa’s ʻOhana Resilience Services are undergoing unprecedented growth!

While maintaining its devotion to serving kamaliʻi (children), ʻōpio (youth), and young adults, under the direction of Hale Kipa CEO Venus Kauʻiokawēkiu Rosete-Medeiros, it now includes offerings that serve the entire ʻohana.

The long-time emergency shelter or “hale” for girls in ʻEwa on Renton Road is now the site of ʻOhana Resilience Services. The facility is called Hale Kū Ola, which means “alive and well, free from danger.” Hale Kū Ola is a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment where ʻohana can access resources and family-strengthening support. The facility also provides emergency shelter for up to two families, intervention, and success coaching to enhance families’ resiliency and prevent child abuse and neglect.

Recently, ʻOhana Resilience Services introduced the Kamalama Parenting Curriculum, co-authored by Rosete-Medeiros. The course uses universal Hawaiian values to create a foundation that helps parents discover how their skills, knowledge, and behavior influence the way they parent their children.
