For the third year running, Arma Oana and Kanani Kahana-Reid have provided much needed Turkey meals for the youth and young adults in Hale Kipa’s programs. The duo formed an informal network of friends and family, affectionally named, “Kūpuna Kan.” The group, of mostly retired individuals, is constantly on the lookout for items that can be donated to nonprofits across Oʻahu. For Hale Kipa, in times when it seemed like needs would go unfilled, the group has stepped up to the plate and found a way to meet those needs.
In 2022, Kūpuna Kan delivered seven turkey kits that provided fifty-six servings of complete hot turkey dinners and seven tubs of ice cream. This year, in 2023, Kūpuna Kan delivered ten turkey kits that provided eighty servings of complete hot turkey dinners and ten tubs of ice cream.

While delivering to Hale Kipa’s ʻEwa Beach campus, Arma and Kanani had a chance to meet and chat with staff from various programs. There was a great showing of warm gratitude for their continued and generous gifts to the youth in programs they manage.
